One of our major clients located in *Downtown, DC (L Street NW)* is in need of a Java Developer for a 12 month project. This will be an organized and motivated individual. Our client has a wide range of internal and client-facing systems that require continuing development and integration. They are searching for a developer who is comfortable with a wide range of technologies, who is willing to learn new technologies and systems as the need arises, who can mentor less experienced developers, and who can get things done with minimal supervision and direction. Our client boasts a small development team, a casual atmosphere, a commitment to work-life balance, and a downtown, metro-accessible office. *Required Skills:* Individual must have strong skills in communication (written & spoken), analysis & problem-solving, the software development life-cycle, and the following: • Experience with using Java as an object-oriented programming language. Strong understanding of object-oriented concepts. • Experience writing and optimizing advanced SQL queries • Experience developing web applications a plus; • Experience with SOAP-based web services a plus; *Experience:* Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a software development position.
