Our Client has a requirement for Linux System Engineer in New York
City.
Job details are as follows.
Responsibilities:
1. Installing, designing and Administering Linux Servers.
2. Experience in designing and creating Redhat or SuSE based linux
Servers on physical and virtual machines.
3. Experience in VMware ESX cluster environment.
4. Experience with managing virtual machines and related issues.
5. Linux certification and RHCE.
6. Experience in trouble shooting and performance tuning.
7. Working experience with OS updates and upgrades.
8. Experience to assist application developers and end-users during
development and issue resolution.
9. Ability to work with other groups in the organization and third
party vendors.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
1. BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
2. Minimum of 4 years experience working with Linux/Unix Servers.
3. Experience in Installing, Configuring and Administering RedHat
3,4,5 and SuSE 9,10
4. RedHat certification.
5. 2+ years of experience in VMWare ESX cluster environment and
managing Linux based virtual machines.
6. Experience in network configuration and troubleshooting for Linux
servers.
7. Experience in Linux updates, Satellite server for Redhat and SuSE
yum server.
8. Experience in device drivers in Linux for RAID & LVM
configuration
9. Experience on HP and Dell, 64 bit servers.
10. Proficient in Linux OS tuning and customization.
11. Strong analytical skills for problem resolution, OS performance
tuning and troubleshooting.
12. Ability to work comfortably with technical staff as well as
business and non-technical staff.
13. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
14. Exceptionally motivated and capable of working independently with
little
Supervision as well as part of a team.
15. Prepare system, standard and technical documentation.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
1. Experience with Scripting.
2. Experience with Network troubleshooting.
3. Experience in working with Multiple Linux flavors , windows and
storage.
4. Experience on NetAPP storage and HP servers
