The City of San Antonio (COSA) Finance Department and Information Technology
Services Department (ITSD) will be embarking on requirements gathering,
business process review and business case development for the installation
of an enterprise-wide Point of Sales System (POS) that will integrate with
COSA's SAP system. The POS is expected to serve as a front-end cashiering
system as well as an integration point from some existing
department-specific sales systems to SAP. On the back-end, the system will
send transaction and revenue information to SAP. The goals of the project
are to determine the City's needs related to a POS, to identify a potential
vendor for a POS, and to develop a business case and ROI analysis for the
solution.



The Business Analyst will provide the following services:



A.     As-Is Analysis, including process mapping, of both Central Finance
processes as well as at City departments that undertake sales of goods and
services to citizens and other customers

B.     Requirements Gathering to determine what functionality and processes
are needed by departments providing goods and services

C.     Development and coordination of a Request for Information and/or a
Request for Proposals

D.     Development of a Business Case and Return on Investment analysis for
a POS system to be presented to the San Antonio City Council

E.      Development of a preliminary budget for implementation and system
costs

F.      Participation in the development and maintenance of a project work
plan



The positions will report to the Finance Department's Project Manager.
