*Title : Sr. SQL DBA* *Location : Groton , CT * The position details are below. The candidate MUST have excellent communication skills. We need a senior candidate. * Role* Assess, investigate, organize(including indexing, tuning, monitoring) & document a total of 55 SQL DB's across 9 servers. DB's currently sit in both 2000 & 2005. Two main applications (Financials and Utility Billing) must stay in SQL 2000 per their vendor agreement, the application servers also have the DB sitting on it. There are departments that have DB's not under the domain of the IT dept. but they are aware that this assessment will be taking place. According to their ops. manager the DB's are a mess with no one having done an assessment. The goal is to bring organization, structure and a common platform(as much as possible) to their Databases. This position will also in a joint effort documenting so there is a review and maintenance protocol in place. *Please send resumes with contact details, rates and present location.
