Excellent communication skills are important *Job Description: *HL7 Application Engineer - Healthcare *Objective: *Design and Develop Components for Health Record Solutions The platform is an open source platform that enables all clinical information to be stored, indexed and semantically mapped for use by Tolven applications or any other applications that use the services provided by the Tolven platform. The Tolven platform incorporates workflow, rules and terminology management, making this a complete solution for the purpose of secure data storage in a central repository and the semantic re-use of data, irrespective of the source of the data. Tolven's Personal Health Record (ePHR) and Clinical Health Record (eCHR) applications evidence the utility of the Tolven platform through web and mobile user interfaces. Tolven is a standards-based solution, incorporating: • HL7 data types and structures • UMLS coding • Continuity of Care Record *Position Description* Candidates must have hands-on experience configuring, supporting and training withelectronic clinical and/or personal health record applications. The individual selected for theApplication Engineer role with Tolven will be responsible for detailed analysis, design andimplementation of components of the Tolven electronic health record applications. Responsibilities will include configuring the Tolven application for best practice workflows andclient-specific customization, user and parameter setups.The Application Engineer supports customers in the use and growth of their Tolvendeployment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting systems, working with customers to ensure success, and establishing and maintaining strong working relationships – both internalto Tolven and external to our clients and partner organizations. Interactions will be with otherdevelopers, Tolven management (consisting of domain experts with clinical and technicalbackgrounds), partner organizations and clients. The Application Engineer works with the Tolven team and client representatives to solidify end-user requirements, develop use cases as required, and express end-user applications to meet use case requirements. The Application Engineer is also responsible for providing excellent customer support, including responding to reported incidents, analyzing call content and ensuring all problems are replicated and resolved in-house. Tolven’s team is virtual, with all team members working from a home office. While a homebased position, occasional travel to client sites may be required. *Required Qualifications* The candidate must have highly analytical and complex problem solving abilities, as well as strong problem management, quality improvement measures, requirement analysis, solution design and customer relationship skills. Other specific requirements include: - Healthcare industry and healthcare software (health IT) background - HL7 Version 3 experience a plus - Knowledge of web page development - Basic knowledge of java and XML are important - Evidence of application engineer experience, extending to screen design and end-user training - Strong verbal and written English language communication skills - Able to work with little or no supervision - Minimum five years customer support experience in a technology product company *Please send resumes with contact details, rates and present location.
