* * *Posting Title: Network Engineer * *Location -Tallahassee, Florida* *Duration- 1 Year* *Rate- Open* * * DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Provide after hours support · Manage and lead the effort to troubleshoot and resolve unplanned outages in a timely manner. · Work with vendors and other state agencies to resolve complex network problems. · Document problem and resolution for future use. · Identify changes or additions needed to the current architecture to best support current and future network infrastructure needs · Perform authorized system maintenance as needed. · Monitor network performance and analyze logs as required. · Maintain and update system documentation and diagrams as needed. · Perform other related duties as required *Position Requirements and Technical Skills:* MANDATORY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE · Ability to solve problems, both technically and operationally. · Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP · Knowledge of WLAN networking including enterprise class security · Ability to communicate technical information verbally and in writing · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, as well as work unsupervised when needed · Able to teach and share technical knowledge · Prioritizes and performs a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction or supervision. · Four years experience in managing networks (LANs/WANs/WLANs). · Hands on experience with network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, and other related devices) · Nortel experience is a plus. · Telephony experience is a plus but is not required. *NOTES* Three (3) references are required.
