This person should have in-depth knowledge of Oracle Technology stack.
focusing on OLTP the main issue with DW/OLAP developers are that they don't
have in-depth knowledge of Oracle and are more geared towards ETL tools --
that hides the technology stack from them. Whereas in OLTP you have to know
the stack to build your application
*Job Description:*
R&D Datasystems in Princeton is looking for a Database/Application
Programmer to work on a large scale data processing application. The
selected candidate will have an opportunity to work on state-of-the-art
development environment which includes .NET, JBOSS and Oracle. We are
looking for a candidate with 3-5 years of Java and SQL programming
experience and additionally have the below mentioned background:
*REQUIRED SKILLS:*
In-depth understanding of Oracle Technology Stack
Database Design and Development
Oracle 9i/10g experience
Extremely strong in writing Stored Procedures/Functions/Triggers in PL/SQL
Logical and Physical Data Modeling Skills in both OLTP and Data Warehousing
Data Modeling skills and normalizations
Physical database design issues, de-normalization, materialized views,
judgments on costs, benefits, analysis and tradeoffs
UNIX scripting (shell)
Data structures and algorithms, graphs, trees, problem solving skills
Excellent oral/written communication skills
*ADDITIONAL SKILLS:*
Erwin/Model Mart
Experience with Performance Tuning in Oracle - Oracle XDB - Crystal
Reports/Business Objects XI
XML/XSLT - CVS
Performance tuning and query optimization Oracle 10g and 11g
Design of high performance Stored Procedure code that is deadlock free in a
highly concurrent environment
Data replication and high availability design scenarios with Oracle Streams
Application Programming experience using Java in J2EE platform
