Primary Objectives:
. Rapidly deploy Linux (SLES and RedHat) servers, Solaris servers,
and Microsoft Windows servers on multiple hardware platforms.
. Assist with the design and documentation of server deployment
processes.
. Assist with the design and development of automation tools to
leverage server deployment efforts.
. Collaborate with technology support teams to identify and set
per environment system configuration standards.
. Collaborate with system design and support engineers to evaluate
new technology solutions.
Qualifications:
Education
. BA or BS with 3-5 years experience in related systems
engineering and administration experience or equivalent work experience.
Technical Knowledge and Expertise
. Operating Systems: Windows 2003 and 2008, SUSE Linux Enterprise
Server, Red Hat AS Linux, Solaris (SPARC and x86)
. Hardware Platforms: IBM xSeries and BladeCenter, HP
BladeSystem, Dell, Sun Fire X4100/4500/4600, Sun T5120
. Server Virtualization Technologies: VMWare
. Preferable PXE boot experience, Symantec Altiris Deployment
Server administration and support experience.
. Preferable Linux shell scripting experience.
Communication and Soft Skills
. Must be able to work independently with time-sensitive,
competing server deployment projects.
. Strong communication skills in interacting with engineers and
business unit contacts.
Work Experience
. Preferable 3-5 years of Linux/UNIX and/or Windows systems
administration experience.
