Responsibilities The E-Commerce engineering group is a critical team working to architect, design, develop components of the e-commerce platform. At the heart of this e-commerce platform is ATG's ecommerce product suite. In this role, you will be participating in this effort through architecture, design and implementation of key e-commerce capabilities. In addition, you will guide and mentor team members to help build a high performance, development organization. . Architect, design, and develop e-commerce applications, products, and services using ATG's comprehensive e-commerce software product suite to implement, monitor, and continuously improve personalized e-commerce software applications. . Provide leadership in technology and SW development processes. . Provide close technical coordination, collaboration, guidance, and oversight in a distributed development environment. . Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members. . Collaborate with product development, project management and infrastructure teams . Identify technology opportunities to support business objectives. Professional Qualifications . Minimum 10 years of software development experience with 2-3 years in large e-commerce applications with ATG's product suite. . Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent. Design/Documentation: . Ability to work with input from business teams and lab operational organization to transform functional specifications to software design documents. . Ability to architect and design to support new requirements . Ability to create architecture and design documents and lead high-level architecture discussions. Software Engineering: Extensive experience in the following areas: . Strong understanding of object oriented and web development concepts. . Large-scale high-volume e-commerce platform design and development, preferably using the ATG product suite . Deep understanding of the architecture and set-up/deployment experience with ATG's product suite . Successful development and deployment of multi-tiered global e-commerce applications (internationalization/globalization, localization, etc.) and distributed computing solutions . Designing platform architecture taking into account requirements of scalability, performance, storage, security, stability and maintainability. . Java programming, XML, REST, SOAP, Web Services (WSDL), and other relevant Java/J2EE technologies. . DB Transaction management, SQL programming, schema design and JDBC. . Platform experience in Unix, Web servers (Apache) and Application servers (JBoss). . ATG Adaptive Scenario Engine, ATG Customer Intelligence, ATG Commerce Service Center, and ATG Campaign Optimizer . Build tools such as Maven . Good knowledge of software algorithms and design patterns Experience . History of successful software commercialization projects . Knowledge and proven execution of Software Development processes (e.g., SCM) . Strong organization skills, self-motivated, team player . Excellent verbal and written communication skills. . Strong team leadership skills, including the ability to mentor, motivate, and influence others. . Ability to lead development team meetings . Proven team leadership experience. Quality . Track record of quality software development including the creation and execution of unit tests, and release documentation to Software Configuration Management .
