Senior Web Systems Administrator
Location: Dulles, VA
6-month contract
Technical Skills:
Advanced knowledge of Apache/Tomcat web servers
Knowledge of multiple Web programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript,
SQL, Java, or PERL
Strong understanding of IP networking, including familiarity with the
functionality, operating, and failure modes of common networking devices,
and the ability to analyze network behavior, performance and application
issues using standard tools such as tcpdump.
Expertise in LINUX/CentOS system administration, including configuration,
troubleshooting, and automation
Proven technical troubleshooting and performance tuning experience.
General Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Computer Science or a related technical
field) or equivalent experience + 3-5 years directly related experience.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Team oriented
Special Consideration give to candidates with:
* Experience running high-traffic web services, including requirements &
capacity analysis, service configuration, monitoring & troubleshooting, and
change management.
* Experience in a high-volume or critical production service environment.
* Served as a member of an operations team responsible for designing,
planning, structuring, and setting up Web applications, including GSLB and
VIP configurations.
* Knowledge of session management and object relational mapping, XML web
services
* Knowledge of SOLR, MySQL, and Lucene
