iSeries COBOL/SQL Developer Length: 4 months
Location: NJ Position Summary As a member of the Information Management team, the Programmer Analyst would be responsible for designing and developing processes related to integrating customer and product information from across the enterprise into the Corporate Product and Enterprise Customer databases. The programmer/analyst will also be responsible for supporting applications that are used by Customer Service and the Strategic Marketing Team. The programmer/analyst will work in a diverse technical environment that includes iSeries, COBOL applications and IBM*s WBI Integration software. Candidate must be highly proficient technically. Working in a small team, the developer must be able to support all phases of the SDLC and be able to follow operational and audit procedures on a consistent basis. The position requires a strong technical background with good estimating skills. The developer will interact on a regular basis with business analysts. Candidate must possess good communication and interpersonal skills, and be willing to collaborate with other development groups in the organization when required. The developer must be able to work on several different tasks at the same time. Candidate must be highly motivated, highly productive and able to work independently with minimal direction. Responsibilities: * Provide iSeries COBOL and SQL development support for the Customer Database * Support iSeries-based tools * Assist QA analyst in the development and execution of quality assurance test cases. * Provide high-level estimates and system impact analysis. * Design and document new functionality as well as enhancements * Interact with business analysts to understand and clarify requirements * Conduct design and code walkthroughs. * Write clear and concise code, replete with comments. * Perform thorough unit testing.
