Must be proficient in Python, Javascript, HTTP, XHTML/CSS; Java and/or PHP is a plus. Must have experience in GNU/Linux usage/ development, Web development, developing for existing content management frameworks (e.g., Drupal, Django), using HTTP for applications beyond HTML, databases, and database architecture (normalization, etc), mobile back-ends (not necessarily programming on phones directly, but interfacing via HTTP, SMS, MMS), light interface prototyping; experience in embedded systems design is a plus. The candidate must have a strong ability to learn any of the above, if needed, and must be qualified to work in the United States. : The client is a university with a Mobile Experience Lab, they are looking for a talented WEB-BASED PLATFORM PROGRAMMER to work with our design team to help develop an infrastructure for connecting mobile devices and physical interfaces to a web-based content management system. Tasks will include utilizing and/or implementing new communication protocols between devices and the web, developing custom rendering engines and visualization techniques and designing cross-platform mashups that can work across a variety of media.
