There are tools in place for monitoring performance. The primary function of the network management engineer will be to administer the *HP OpenView Operations (OVO) Fault Management Platform*, and will maintain the application and related database, maintain configuration downloads and backups, perform patching and upgrades as needed on both management server and agents, monitor error logs on both management server and nodes, develop a test and development environment, modify existing templates as needed; create new templates, and identify and integrate new/other tools and applications as needed. The network management engineer will maintain and track license compliance, create and maintain user logins, and open and track support issues. *The network management engineer will operate within the Data Operations Group and have similar responsibilities for operation and maintenance of the ICN, but have an emphasis on the OVO functions for alarm monitoring and reporting. The network management engineer will be responsible for operating systems including UNIX, SOLARIS and Windows. Current HP suites of OpenView products used are NNM, OVO, TeMIP, SIP, and Service Desk. * The network management engineer will design and implement required changes to the IP Fault Management Network based on monitoring capability and capacity, review and recommend new related products where cost effective. Serve on teams where technical RFPs are developed and evaluated and makes recommendations accordingly.
