Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, or Bachelor of Science in
Electrical Engineering, or Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering
6+ years of experience in product development of embedded firmware /
software using the C or C++ language.
Group Description
The Core Set top and Satellite IRD software development team is responsible
for the design and development of the Motorola layer of software that ships
with each set-top box. This layer includes, but is not limited to: audio,
video (MPEG), graphics, closed captioning, subtitles, section filters, table
processing, USB, network, and Digital Video Recorder.
The team is responsible for developing HD/DVR satellite IRD's, low cost SD
satellite IRD's, low cost SD Cable Set top box, next generation cable and
telco Client networked set top boxes.
Responsibilities
Embedded software development and software maintenance set top and satellite IRD's. Responsible for Requirements Analysis,
Architecture, design, code, integration and test of embedded Set top box
software. Role encompasses existing product maintenance as well as
development of new customer features.
Specific Knowledge/Skills
- Experience in C++ and Object Oriented Technology
- Experience in embedded system debugging required.
- Experience with Real Time Operating system such as Vrtx, VxWorks, or
Linux.
- JTAG/ETM Experience a plus
- Experience in Software Development process: Requirements, Architecture,
Design, Test, and Integration
- Experience in hardware/software interfaces
- Proficiency in C is required, and experience with C++ is strongly
preferred.
- ISO9000 and/or TL9000 experience a plus
