Hi,

Anyone who can work on this it would be appreciated. Please read through the
whole description and make sure your candidate fits. Please only send me you
number 1 top candidate.

Please respond to [email protected]

Position: Data Modeler

Location Minnesota

RATE: $47/hr corp to corp

MUST HAVES: Logical Data Modeling, Extensive OLTP, Replatforming, and
Understanding of App Dev JAVA. (Please Read Below)

Finally talked to the hiring manager and the requirement has changed some:

Classic data modeler with experience in migrating a system from one platform to
another.

There is a COBOL/DB2 Mainframe system - this will be migrated to a new system
(Java/J2EE with unknown DB on the back end - may be Oracle DB2 or SQL)

This person needs experience in taking the logical Data Model from the old
system and reconciling it to the Data Model on the new system - the data model
on the new system already exists, they will have to be able to take new
requirements, augment the existing model of the target or new system to
accommodate those new requirements and migrate the old data model to the new as
well.

Candidates with experience in "replatforming" or migrating systems are a fit.

OLTP is a must with understanding of App Dev (Java) OLAP is very secondary/not
a must have.

This is not for the BI portion - its for transaction based system.

Updated data modeler description from the client:

I took a crack at providing more language than what has been provided to date
(which is pretty sparse). Please review, refine, etc where appropriate.

We are in need of someone to create logical and physical data models for a
re-platforming effort to migrate from an existing database structure to a new
database structure.

This person is someone who can create tables, indexes and constraints and has
the ability to map requirements to new data structures or enhancing existing
data structures that supports large amounts of volume in an online transaction
processing system (OLTP). This person has strong diagnostic skills and data
modeling language skills. This person will be working with Business Analysts,
Development Teams, and Architects to solution requirements into a data model,
as such must be a strong collaborator and communicator.

This person will generate physical data model scripts (DDL) and assist
developers with SQL data manipulation (DML). This person will also be
instrumental in maintaining all data model artifacts such as data dictionary,
data mapping documents and ETL data migration in accordance with Data
Architectural Standards. Erwin experience preferred.

Thanks & Regards,
