Please respond to [email protected] Must Be GC, Citizens, EAD Position: Lead Oracle DBA Location: Mclean, VA Duration: 6 Months Justification: This request is to on-board a Lead Database Administrator to support the Advantage 1.0 Initiative and support Oracle Engineering, design, and mentoring. The Lead DBA will work with the current DBA employee on the Advantage 1.0 initiative and participate in building out the Oracle environment. This resource is necessary because the environment will be a warehouse environment using Oracle clustering capabilities. There is a large experience gap with the existing DBA team in supporting a large, warehouse oracle environment. This DBA request is to help the existing DBA team learn how to build and support this type of Oracle environment. Operating Environment: Oracle on AIX & Solaris. PROJECT ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Contractor's Role: Lead DBA will perform the following DBA tasks: ORACLE upgrades, performance tuning, script writing, performing backups/recovery, database monitoring, SQL writing, providing 24 x 7 oncall production support, providing developers with database administration support during development lifecycle. Oracle RAC monitoring and performance tuning. Lead DBA will also assist in testing/supporting the production environment for Adv. 1.0 including Oracle RAC Clustering. This will include mentoring and teaching this knowledge to the existing Oracle DBAs to bring them up to speed with this technology. Transfer of Knowledge Plan: Lead DBA will document and review his assignments with DBAs and Management. PROJECT REQUIREMENT: Project Tasks/Activities: Oracle upgrades, Script-writing, performing backups/recovery, database monitoring, SQL and performance tuning at all levels, oncall production support (24x7), database and object design, mentoring DBAs with new Oracle technologies. Deliverables: Will be defined based on specific database assignments. Quality/Acceptance Criteria: Management or appropriate team lead will review and approve DBAs work. Status Reporting: Lead DBA will provide verbal and written status of His assigned tasks to Management. Skill: Senior (7+ yrs) Skills: 5+ years of experience as an Oracle DBA supporting production and non production environments. Hands-on experience with Oracle RAC. Data warehouse experience preferred. Lead DBA will also assist in testing/supporting the production environment for Adv. 1.0 including Oracle RAC Clustering.
