Java Front End/Web Services Developer
Java web developer to fill a Front End/Web Services Developer role at a major financial media client site. The person must have extensive experience working on customer facing UIs, associated services and other front end projects on the Java platform. Development projects include enhancing and supporting a high profile, consumer facing production environment. Project lifecycle requires multiple publishes per week, multitasking across various projects and interfacing with multiple business-critical applications. Projects follow the standard digital media aggressive enhancement schedule supported by matrixed teams of QA, development, systems operations and project management along with the business users. The project lifecycle is extremely agile. Technical * Java/J2EE web-app developer * HTML (multi-browser-compatibility) * CSS * Java 1.5 * JSP, struts (or JSP standard taglibs) * JBOSS & Tomcat * XML * SOAP (client side) * Maven * Restful Webservices * Internationalization * CMS ( Content Management System) * Object Oriented Java Script * Prototype, DoJo * Oracle * Junit * CVS Knowledge ( Branching, Merging ). * With exposure to: * Eclipse * Linux * Nice to have: Jconsole & Jmeter knowledge. Business * 2-3 years interfacing with internal or external customers in a digital production environment. * 2-3 years experience production issue troubleshooting in a digital production environment with production support, development, QA, etc. * 7-8 years Java platform development experience for front end web applications and associated services. * Comfort interfacing assertively with highly verbal customers (editors, writers) * Clear and professional communication skills. * Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams. * Track record of tactfully escalating roadblocks and other appropriate issues. * Familiarity with testing methodologies and technologies for unit testing. * Comfort with self-directed projects and with working in a team. * Familiarity with agile and waterfall methodologies.
