Job Title Infrastructure consultant
Duties The Storage and Availability Management Group's Hardware
Compatibility Lab is seeking an experienced Infrastructure consultant to join a high-energy and growing team responsible for managing large enterprise SAN and storage array configurations across multiple hardware types and vendors, operating systems, and products families.
The cLab organization is a tightly knit group, comprised of our best engineers in terms of technical breadth, and problem solving skills.
Hardware Certification Engineers work closely with our development, QA, product management, and partner management teams and our most strategic hardware partners and customers to ensure the release of the highest quality products by developing, maintaining, and implementing test strategies, plans, procedures, and cases.
Work with lab team to ensure lab processes are followed.
OS installs on AIX, Linux, Solaris and HP. Work with Jump start on various platforms. Be able to manage and configure Storage arrays like EMC CX, DMX, HDS 9500, IBM DS8000 etc. Familiar with Switches, zoning, setting up SAN environment with multiple FC switches to test and qualify hardwares with SFW on various FC switches, RAID Storage arrays (FC SAN, iSCSI storage), PCI-X / PCI-E HBAs (Emulex, Qlogic).
Skills . Knowledge of UNIX and Linux operating systems, such as
HP-UX, AIX, Solaris, RHEL, and SLES
. Veritas product knowledge or experience desirable . Knowledge and/or experience working in a storage area network (SAN) environment; experience with Brocade, McData, Cisco, and QLogic desirable . Solid knowledge with server hardware and enterprise storage arrays, such as EMC Symmetrix, Network Appliance (NetApp), Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), IBM, etc.
. Strong troubleshooting skills within various operating system, storage array, and storage area network (SAN) environments
