Hi partners, We have an Urgent requirement for the position of *VMware administrator*
Location: Downers Grove, IL Duration: 2+ Months Contract Availability: Immediate *Description* *The VM Administrator is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of the VMs installed in the Hosted environment. In addition, the VM administrator will assist in the planning of and deployment of upgrades and expansion of software and hardware. The VM administrator will coordinate his/her activities with the VMWare farm administration, network administration, technical development, quality assurance, field installation, and technical support teams and help manage customer and stakeholder expectations.* *Responsibilities* · Responsible for all day-to-day management of the VMs including: installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, patching, backup and recovery. · Assist in the planning, execution, and tracking of the Hosted projects. · Prioritize and coordinate the usage of cross-team resources for projects or work assignments. · Provide input for the design, architecture and implementation of Hosted projects. · Develop processes or procedures that are designed to improve effectiveness and interactions. · Develop and discover standards and best practices that adjust with the marketplace and that limit risks to company through exposure. · Complete tasks on schedule, with high quality, and with attention to detail while identifying and managing task dependencies and critical path. · Other responsibilities may be assigned based upon business need. *Requirements* · Bachelor’s degree is required in Computer Engineering or related field. · MCSA/MCSE or equivalent experience; VCP a plus. · 5+ years Windows administration, configuration, and system level support experience. · 3+ years direct work experience in a VMware ESX and 2+ years working with VDI/View. · Strong scripting skills using VBScript, power shell, or other prevalent scripting language. · Experience working with and administering Active Directory, MS-SQL, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, custom developed and 3rd part applications. · Strong understanding of Microsoft Windows systems and network security concepts; UNIX is a plus. · Keen understanding on networking essentials and current Internet technologies. · Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, quantify and resolve complex issues in a mixed Windows/Linux environment. · Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with minimal supervision is essential. · Strong written and oral communication skills. · Strong interpersonal skills.
