Position Title Mainframe QA
Priority High Primary Skill Mainframe Other Skills *Rational Test Manager, Clear Quest, DOORS, Rational SODA, Rational Robot, Rational Manual Test, Rapid * Duration 6 months Position Type Contract Location Mc Lean, VA Description ? Four to Seven years experience in an IT-related role (i.e., testing, business/systems analysis, and/or programming). . Independent Tester with at least 2 years of recent mainframe experience running batch jobs using JCL. . Candidate should be able to create and modify JCL. ? One to two years experience using Test Management, Defect Tracking, Requirements Management, and Modeling tools. ? Proven understanding of SDLC, preferably experienced in RUP environment. ? Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, and analytical/problem-solving skills; able to prioritize and work under tight deadlines. ? Working knowledge of Investments Accounting, Securities, and Freddie Mac financial applications and systems a plus ? Strong working knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Sybase, and SQL. Required Skills (not certain this is applicable to PERM process) . Independent Tester with at least 2 years of RECENT mainframe experience running batch jobs using JCL. . Candidate should be able to create and modify JCL. . Experience with COBOL, TSO, ISPF and FileAid with DB2 experience to include QMF and SPUFI . Strong verbal and written communications skills ? Attention to detail. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills ? Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and Test methodologies ? FTD Process a plus ? Ability to prioritize along critical path and meet project milestones and deliverable dates ? Proven working knowledge of testing methods, tools, and software testing best practices ? Rational Suite a plus (Team Test, ClearQuest) ? Ability to understand and translate business requirements and used cases. ? Ability to develop/capture thorough Test Suites, Test Cases/Scripts, and Test Results. ? Ability to operate independently or in team environment ? Strong SQL and UNIX experience. ? Strong EXCEL Experience to include Macro ? Interface testing experience a plus. ? Experience in financial instruments and financial reporting a plus. comments: Requires five (5) years of experience in Information Technology. The experience must have included testing, business/systems analysis, and programming; using tools such as: Rational Test Manager, Clear Quest, DOORS, Rational SODA, Rational Robot, Rational Manual Test, RapidSQL, Hummingbird, DB2 Command Center and ClearCase; SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, DB2 and Sybase, SDLC implementation and UNIX shell scripting.
