Location Tampa FL Rate $45ph C2C MAX Duration 1 year *Job Responsibilities:* - Perform database installations, upgrades and configuration; - Set up backup and recovery procedures; - Implement and test Oracle high availability solutions; - Perform periodic exercises to validate backup and recovery procedures; - Perform maintenance, monitoring and tuning of databases; - Monitor production data processes, performance and database capacity issues; - Provide support for database design and application development; - Administer and monitor database security; - Implement and maintain DBA policies, procedures/manuals; - Assist with security administration for the Group’s computers and applications; - Assist in troubleshooting problems with the databases, applications and development tools; - Assist in ad hoc projects, assignments and responsibilities as necessary - Participate in rotating off hours, weekend and contingency site coverage. - Resolve incidents and problems, creating SRs as needed and working with Oracle and the customer to quickly resolve the problem. Communication of same to stakeholders. *Position Requirements:* - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and least 5+ years relevant work experience as a DBA with Oracle; - Strong knowledge of *Oracle internals and procedural language (PL/SQL); * - Strong knowledge of* Oracle High Availability solutions: DataGuard, and RAC; * - Strong knowledge of *Oracle RMAN, Flashback, and Data Pump; * - Good knowledge of *Grid Control; * - Proven experience managing large-scale databases in a mission critical environment; - Strong knowledge of *Unix shell * - At least 3+ years experience working in and administering a medium or*large Sun Solaris based computing environment; * - Must be self-motivated, able to work independently and highly responsible to time critical issues; and - Strong communication and customer service skills Good to have: - Basic knowledge of *weblogic* - * SYSTEM V packaging *experience - Good knowledge of* Veritas NetBackup and Cluster Server* Best Regards Mark Syscom Technologies, Inc. 4229 Lafayette Center Dr, Ste 1880, Chantilly, VA - 20151.
