Windows Support Engineers – TWO POSITIONS      

 

The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for and involved with: Build and run level activities for the various supported sites. Developing subject matter expertise for various technologies/services within the organization. Participating in first & second level operational support teams. Participate in platform design, upgrade, anticipate potential issues, troubleshoot, research and resolve issues and problems associated with server performance, capacity issues, and other Windows-related issues. Use of expert knowledge to resolve highly complex or escalated infrastructure problems. Configuration and security for server, upgrades, third party software, performance management, capacity planning and trend analysis Server Lab Support, Data Backups. Gather and develop an in-depth understanding of business requirements. Participate in ITIL (Equip-IT) initiatives and processes Collaborate with various IT partners (eg internal IT organizations, External suppliers, 3rd party vendors), business customers and end users. Participate in a on-call rotation schedule for escalation issues.
Degree preferred with 4 years of IT Systems Administration experience OR a minimum of 7 years of IT Systems Administration experience. Windows MCSE Certification a plus. Extensive knowledge and technical expertise is Highly preferred for the following: Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 Operating System administration. Server hardware and problem solving skills, familiarity with Dell, HP or IBM Server Class hardware including Lights out management, KVM consoles and system configuration. Performance mgt, Capacity mgt, Monitoring Trends, Root Cause Analysis skills and Operational Support. Big Fix Patching Systems Monitoring Tools MOM/System Center Ops Manager 2007, Internet Information Server 5/6 (IIS), Microsoft Hyper – V and Virtual Server, Microsoft or Veritas clustering, load balancing & high availability solutions. Administrative scripting, Power Shell, _vbscript_, PERL, HTML, WMI or similar shell script programming languages. Technical competence and knowledge is preferred for the following disciplines: Active Directory management. Security management, including Group or local Policy Objects and, system hardening, security and DR. TCP/IP Networking, Firewalls, DNS, WINS, Network Attached Storage, Oracle, SQL Databases. Windows Terminal Server, Citrix & Citrix environments, Remedy or similar ticketing & escalation systems. Technical Understanding and knowledge, in the following disciplines is desired: Knowledge of LINUX or Unix administration EMC VMWare ESX Virtual Server ASP .NET or VS .Net, Web Servers and protocols, Apache, IIS, HTTP, SSL, FTP. Self-starter, a team player, as well as having the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working with time constraints and the need to prioritize work required. Ability to collaborate and interact with various internal technical teams of all skill levels, business and customer teams with limited technical knowledge and outside business partners, vendors and suppliers.
