Level III - Developer
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
• Responsible for analysis, documentation, development and testing of defect fixes and small enhancements to the COF (customer order fulfillment system).
• Responsible for supporting and maintaining COF test environment.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Responsible for analysis, documentation, development and testing of defect fixes and small enhancements to the COF (customer order fulfillment system).
• Responsible for creating test orders, diagnosing and fixing test orders in support of any large projects in progress including Astro Ship Direct, OMT, Concorde, USPS, etc.
• Responsible for troubleshooting issues in the test environment to keep orders flowing.
• Responsible for providing nth level support when necessary.
• Responsible for providing knowledge transfer to the appropriate RUN team resources prior to implementation on any project.
• Responsible for providing high level estimates on new requests.
Specific Knowledge/Skills:
• General business knowledge should include Order entry and Order Fulfillment.
• AS400 COBOL
o Batch and Interactive programming
o Sub-programs and use of copy books
o Parameter-passing
• CL
o Parameter-passing
o Clearing files
o Overriding files
o Calling multiple COBOL and CL programs
• OS/400 (AS/400 operating system or MVS (Multiple Virtual Storage Mainframe operating system)
• File structures (Display files, Print files, Physical files, Logical files)
• DB2/SQL
• Debugging tools and techniques
• DOS command-based FTP (.txt files, .prn files, .xls files)
• Software Configuration Management tools - ALDON
• Testing (Unit, System)
• Self starter with excellent interpersonal skills who works independently with experience and skills as described above. Capability to multi-task and learn a complex system quickly.
