The system will be used by the Office of Budget Management to gather budget assumptions and data into one file. The system will include granular payroll information as opposed to summarized payroll data and will include functionality to drill through "What if" analysis at varying levels. PENELOPE is a data collection system that stores data for the General Fund (0100) on allocated and open positions across the entire District. It also stores data, known as columns, on Actual Expenditures from the previous fiscal year, Adopted Budget, Amended Budget, and Tentative Budget. Summary data is stored for each location, function, program, and object field of valid account structures. Summary information is also stored by group (elementary, middle, secondary, adult etc.) and by sixteen (16) budget categories (Schools, Categorical, Central Accounts, etc.). At selected times during the year budget data in the columns is updated to reflect changes in the budget and the application of a budget to a new fiscal year.
