Data Analyst Wilmington, DE 6 Months+ $40/hr (some flexibility) Interview Process: Phone Screen and if phone screen goes well, in person interview on site at AIG Primary responsibilities are to guide and advise database administrators, developers, and business units in the development, usage and structure of databases. Participate in the formulation of database strategies to support business unit requirements and provide assistance with the physical implementation of a system by reviewing the logical data model with the development staff. Develop and maintain entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) for each business area using CASE tools. What You Will Be Doing: Develops the Logical Models, documents the data dictionary, and ensures consistency with the Physical Databases. Experience fully documenting technical and business requirements in a Logical and Physical Data Model using tools. Supports development teams by reviewing their data model designs for adherence to data strategic direction integration and integrity compliance, and data administration. Define data needs and distribution methods and approve changes to be implemented by database administrators. Determine what and where data is needed, how access is accomplished, levels of redundancy, etc. Supports development teams by reviewing their data model designs for adherence. Supports development teams by reviewing their data model designs for adherence to data strategic direction, integration and integrity compliance, and data administration standards. Reviews database design updates and changes to inspect the affects to the physical database and architecture and determine the impact on other systems. Define queries and replication to ensure appropriate real-time report generating needs are met. Implement the mechanism needed to control the distribution of repository information. Competent to work independently on all levels up to and including moderately complex activities. May require guidance and/or elevation on complex activities or issues. Work in a team environment being responsible for creating and modifying data models via ERWIN for operational and warehouse projects supported by IT. Will be responsible for conducting modeling sessions with the application teams and end users to insure requirements are met. Will be expected to assist and support the development of a metadata strategy to communicate information about data in the model to end users and application developers.
