Position: Systems Administrator Primary Skills: Direct Face 2 Face Interview Description: Systems Administrator Location: Herndon, VA Client : WebMD.NYC The client Systems Operations team is looking for a systems administrator to join its Systems Operations group. Day to day responsibilities of the group include oversight of corporate and production servers in a heterogeneous Windows/Linux environment, backups and monitoring of system resources, account management, TCP/IP networking troubleshooting, and project support to other teams in the Technology organization. The position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, an ability to work as part of a team or independently under minimal direction. Odd hours and travel to various locations outside the office may be required. Basic Requirements: * 3-5 years of system administration experience. * Experience with both Linux and Windows (RHEL4 and Windows 2003 preferred) * Working knowledge of Active Directory -- can manipulate OUs and GPOs, define Group policy changes in relation Office products * Working knowledge of MS DNS and other Administrative snap-ins * Experience managing clustered Exchange mail systems for a large environment - 1K users (specifically Exchange 2003/2007) * Exchange 2003 to 2007 migration best practices * Experience managing print/file servers * Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts, understands high level routing concepts. * High-level skills with most OS commands/utilities (system backups, file systems, job control, etc). * High level of knowledge of TCP/IP and various Internet servers (DNS, HTTP, FTP, NNTP, etc). * Knowledgable in HA and BCP concepts (RAID, SPOFs, etc) at a high level. * Working knowledge of various systems security tools (Antivirus, system-based firewalls) with a demonstrated ability to implement them. * Ability to write simple scripts using shell/Perl/PowerShell. * MS Login scripting - kixstart login scripting * Demonstrated ability to evaluate and report on new technologies. * Demonstrated ability to implement new systems.
