Job Duties & Responsibilities: Job Description: Unix Administrator/Engineer required to install, configure, manage and support systems software and middleware within the Unix server production environment. This environment consists of approximately 200 central Solaris / AIX / Red Hat Linux / Win2K /VMWare ESX servers. These servers run a variety of software including Veritas Suite, Apache, WebSphere, Siteminder, SonicMQ, LDAP. These servers serve over 20 investment management applications developed in house and used by hundreds of institutional investors worldwide daily. New system software and middleware deployments are typically done 3 to 6 times per month. *(2) Silverlight/Sharepoint/C# Developer - MUST have strong financial/trading background * *Duration: 6+ month contract - * ** *Location: Boston, MA (LOCALS PREFFERED)* *This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing the front-end of a trade analytics portal solution for our trading and investment groups. The portal services layer is based on event-oriented SOA and will be implemented using J2EE and third-party high-performance Java framework. The front-end will use the MS Silverlight, C# and MS Sharepoint. *** The services layer will apply various proprietary algorithms for generating trade execution, performance and cost analytics. Responsibilities will include: ? Contributing to the design of the portal's presentation layer ? Coding of the presentation layer using mainly Silverlight, C# and Sharepoint. ? Participating in the design and laying the foundation for future Sharepoint-based portal ? Using web-services and messaging framework for accessing the middleware services from portal presentation layer. *Daily Activities* ? Work with the systems analysts and development lead to qualify functional specifications ??Author design documentation ? Design and implement a business domain model with complex business rules ? Re-factor existing code with additional future versions ? Develop presentation layer using Silverlight and C# to host content inside Sharepoint ?
