The specific assignment for this contract is the conversion of a Microsoft Access technology Shop Floor Operations Reporting application to a multi-site application using SQL Server technology while achieving efficiencies in the overall application performance and providing enhanced functionality. This is a temporary contract position for a minimum of three months. *PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:* ** · Design and develop Client Server technology business applications using IPG’s suite of technical development tools while conforming to IPG'sdevelopment standards. · Convert an existing complex Microsoft Access based Operations Reporting application to full use of SQL Server databases and stored procedures while implementing efficiencies wherever possible. · Communication with business users of the existing system and with I.T. management. · Status reporting, schedule creation, and conformance to completion schedules. *Hi,* ** *SKILL REQUIREMENTS:* ** · College diploma or university degree in computer science, information systems, or computer engineering. · 5+ years work experience as a programmer anaylyst in the applicable technical areas. · Experience with and understanding of Shop Floor and Operations applications in a manufacturing environment. · Hands-on experience designing databases and writing stored procedures in a Microsoft SQL Server environment. · Heavy experience using the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio. · Heavy experience with Microsoft Access and Access Project. An ability to convert Access tables to SQL Server tables, substituting SQL Queries and Stored Procedures for Access Queries and programming. Heavy experience with Microsoft Access Visual Basic programming and forms design. · Knowledge of or experience with IBM iSeries DB2 database programming and use of related tools is highly desirable. · Must be able to work independently.
