*Web Front End developer with UX Role* Duration: *6 months *Location: *Mass Transit commutable from NYC* *ROLE:* User Testing & Research role Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Conducting contextual inquiries to gain an understanding of users and their work goals • Performing heuristic analysis and competitive product analysis • Conducting usability testing and validation • Organize and conduct focus groups • Document and present findings to UI Design and Product teams • Add findings to existing personas • Teaching others user research techniques (e.g. how to conduct a focus group, field study, etc.) • Assist with other projects as needed Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required • Master's degree in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Usability Engineering, Cognitive Psychology or related field is preferred • Minimum of 5+ years experience performing User Experience research and design in a mature software development organization • Thorough knowledge and significant experience with User-Centered Design practices: contextual inquiry, persona development, heuristic evaluation, competitive analysis, interface design, rapid prototyping and participatory design, usability testing • Experience with user research techniques (e.g. Card Sorting, Cognitive Walkthroughs, etc) • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication and presentation skills • Ability to consistently deliver projects on schedule • Ability to work independently and handle change and shifting priorities • Must be able to travel up to 30% including overnight travel Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with TechSmith Morae software • Experience with Agile software development practices I look forward to hear from you and hope that I can be a help in your job quest.
