Job Description:

Role    Mainframe Architect:

Technical/Functional Skills     Programming Languages/Utilities:
•       Cobol, PL/1, JCL, CICS, Assembler, VSAM, XPEDITOR, DB2 Utilities,
FILEAID, SORT, CULPRIT, JOBSCAN
•       Source Control
•       Endeavor, Changeman, Panvalet, RMS
•       Databases
•       DB2, IMS

Experience Required on:
•       Must possess experience in architecting solutions in Mainframe/
legacy modernization
•       Worked with databases with large volume of data
•       Possess hands on experience in PL/1, COBOL, IMS, DB2
•       Participated in architecture review and design review
•       Must possess experience in identifying risks involved in the
solution, weigh pros/cons and come up with recommendation
•       Worked in projects with interdependent technologies

Responsibilities:
•       Interact with Architecture teams within TCS and with Customer to
provide direction to legacy mod
•       Monitors industry trends and directions within area of expertise
•       Contribute to Reference Architecture development/refinement
•       Participate in planning sessions for highly complex or critical
systems with clients, business analysts, and team members.
•       Provides technical guidance based on business and industry
knowledge
•       Provide recommendations on system options
•       Identify potential risks and impacts on the enterprise systems/cross-
functional processes
•       Architect and design solutions involving one or more interdependent
technologies
•       Participate in Architecture and Design reviews
•       Mentor the team in Mainframe Development and Deployment  - hands on
approach required to write code that will establish patterns and will
act as a sample
•       Estimate the work effort and assist in scoping projects
•       Use lessons learnt and best practices from experience to assess and
address Architecture transformation, development and deployment issue
•       Guide functional and performance testing


Role    Mainframe Technical Lead :

•       5+years of experience focusing on full lifecycle application
development
•       Project Planning & Execution (Development, System testing,
Regression test, UAT, Deployment, Warranty support etc..)
•       COBOL and PL\I based application development experience required.
•       DB2, IMS databases experience required.
•       Agile Experience is required
•       Exposure on offshore – onsite Coordination
•       Strong experience on Issue resolution & Risk mitigation
•       Ability to solve the technical problems faced by offshore/ onsite
teams and customers
•       Strong written and verbal communications skills

Responsibilities:
•       Requirements gathering for business requirements & provide
estimates
•       Participate in analysis and design meetings and review meetings
•       Co-ordinate with offshore
•       Project Monitoring / Metrics Reporting/ Dash board creation.
•       Work independently and produce results often under severe time
constraints and difficult working conditions
•       Ability to lead team of 5-6
•       Establish “Best Practices” and plan for continuous improvement of
processes
