*Enterprise Architect* Location: *Boston, MA* Duration: *1 year contract* Rate: *$85 per/hr on c2c/1099* *IN PERSON INTERVIEW IS A MUST AFTER A SUCCESSFUL TELEPHONIC ROUND!!!!* *Primary Responsibilities* • Extensive experience with latest IT architectural directions and related standards • Demonstrated expertise with *SOA* concepts • Ability to map strategic goals to tactical implementations • Ability to evolve the target state as technologies and competencies mature • Experience with iterative project lifecycles • Extensive experience in articulating, managing, and implementing proven and measurable governance mechanisms to achieve stated goals • Communicate effectively, listen, understand and acknowledge other points of view • Leadership, influencing, persuading and compromise skills • Writing and presentation skills • Research and analysis skills • Meeting facilitation skills • Understanding of existing systems and technology • Understanding of emerging technologies • Understanding of state government organization, politics and culture (previous experience) • Strategic thinking skills *Key Capabilities/Competencies* • Extensive knowledge of enterprise service bus (*ESB*), enterprise application integration (EAI), and business process management systems (BPMS) architectures and platforms. • Demonstrable experience implementing SOA/ESB programs in large organizations with diverse technology infrastructure. • Fluency with *SOAP, WS-*, XML, BPEL, WCF, MQ*, etc. • Strong delivery skills. • Experience working with *IBM Websphere Message Broker, WSRR and MQ Series* . • Experience with WS- Security standards and identity management (IM), asset management (AM) implementations. • Experience in writing approach documents, white papers, and design documents. • Communication and organization skills to influence, mediate, and/or persuade technical leads and Senior management in a credible and confident manner at all levels in the organization on technical issues to a mixed developer audience. • Ability to generate new and innovative solutions to complex problems. • Understanding and experience applying de facto and industry standard methodologies (e.g. *TOGAF, SOMA, RUP*). • Strategic planning experience. • Familiarity with state government procurement and funding processes. • Ability to explain and present highly complex ideas to the business and IT. • Anticipates potential objections and barriers, prepares the case accordingly. • Influences others through leadership and inspiration. • Acts as a facilitator and mentor, motivates cross functional and virtual teams. • Creates formal networks internally and externally. ** *Education, Skills and Competencies* • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Results oriented • Ability to form, lead and support work teams • Ability to focus on internal and external customers • Good understanding of business needs and ability to interact effectively with business leaders • Can translate business needs into IT architectural requirements consistent with enterprise strategy • Must be able to work independently as well as in teams • Ability to quickly adapt to changing business and project priorities • Ability to manage multiple projects and task simultaneously and meet project deadlines • A minimum of 5 years previous job experience in large-scale enterprise architecture preferably in the government sector.
