Position Summary
Client seeks a Data Analyst / Business Analyst to join the Sales, Research,
and Capital Markets (SRCM) Technology organization. The Data Analyst /
Business Analyst will be a member of the Sales Reference Data Technology
Team responsible for managing data quality initiatives across the various
reference data programs including client, product, trade and people domains.
The data analyst position will report to the Director of SRCM Reference
Data.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Data Analyst / Business Analyst:
Act as a Subject Matter Expert in the Sales Reference Data domain.
§ We are looking for someone who is very experienced in Data Analysis /
Data Warehousing concepts and proven Business Analyst skills.
§ Though SQL skills are preferred, we are fine with people having data
analysis skill using Excel / Access
Establish data quality reporting processes and analyze data quality
reports to identify potential data anomalies across multiple areas of
reference data.
Attentively pursue data quality issues to their root cause and seek
intelligent solutions to improve data quality through manual data cleanup /
systemic automation.
Work closely with global users to understand business needs, document
requirement specifications and work with technology teams to define and
present solution proposals.
Define the scope and impact of projects and effectively communicate the
impact in the organization.
Engage in ad-hoc data projects varying in scope and priority.
Assist development teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure that
business requirements are correctly implemented.
Acts as liaison between business unit, software developers and quality
assurance teams.
Key Selection Criteria
The data / business analyst must:
Possess 4-6 years of professional experience in the financial services
industry, including 2-4 years focused on data analysis / business analysis
in Sales Technology.
Have several years of practical, hands-on experience as a data /
business analyst, and therefore have insight into how to improve processes
around requirements scope, definition and requirements gathering,
Proficient in usage of SQL for data analysis. Proficient with all
standard Microsoft applications including experience with PowerPoint
presentations as well as data management / query writing skills via Access.
Knowledge of process flow documentation and or familiarity with DMAIC
process; experience with general project management skills.
Demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, and be very capable with data
analysis and productivity tools such as Excel / Access.
Excellent organizational, communication and leadership skills are
essential.
Be able to interact comfortably with and gain the confidence of senior
managers.
Function effectively in cross-functional teams to ensure that critical
work is owned and completed in a timely manner. In general, candidate must
aptly manage day-to-day interactions and relationships with a diverse group
of colleagues.
Self-motivated and can work independently; demonstrate the ability to
multi-task in a fast-paced environment and effectively engage in multiple
initiatives simultaneously.
