*SENIOR GIS PROGRAMMER/ANALYST* Location: *Washington DC* Duration: *6 to 9 months* Rate: *Open* *IN PERSON INTERVIEW IS A MUST!!!* ** ** *Job Description* Under general supervision, the Senior GIS Programmer/Analyst will performs a variety of technical duties in developing and maintaining applications, including writing code, testing and debugging. This is senior-level professional, technical, analytical, and customer-oriented work in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Team of the Information Technology Department. This professional provides critical, advanced programming with Microsoft .NET and Java, HTML, Flash, Java Script, and hands-on experience with ArcGIS Server Enterprise. An employee in this classification must have solid understanding web services/service-oriented architecture (SOA) standards including Representational State Transfer (REST), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), web service description language (WSDL), extensible markup language (XML) and related technologies/standards. ** *Duties and Responsibilities*: ·Maintain the client GIS Applications, developing and editing functionality as needed; ·Develop custom applications for ArcGIS (Desktop and Server): Identify requirements, develop use cases, develop conceptual data models; block diagrams and logic flow charts; design and build the software components; test, debug, and refine the computer software to produce the required product; prepare required documentation, including both program-level, user-level and training documentation; enhance software to reduce operating time and/or improve efficiency. ·Assist and resolve day-to-day issues for GIS users ·Attend various meetings and workshops ·Perform quality control, identifies and corrects errors or omissions. ·Maintains documentation, online and hard copy as required. ·Establishes positive working relationships with client management and staff. ·Other duties may be required and assigned. *Education and Experience:* ·Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Engineering, or related field ·A minimum of 5 year programming experience in .NET Java and/or Java with at least 2 years programming with ESRI ADFs (ArcObjects, ArcGIS APIs for web development). ·Experience designing, implementing, or working with ArcGIS Server Enterprise; ·Experience in developing database driven applications utilizing either SQL Server or Oracle database platforms; ·Experience in working with clients to define and document application requirements ·Industry knowledge in water/wastewater utility environments considered a plus *Knowledge and Abilities: *·Experience designing, implementing, or working with ArcGIS Server Enterprise ·Database design and programming skills ·.Net and Java programming experience ·Ability to work with minimal supervision ·Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio ·Proactive and comprehensive troubleshooting and problem solving skills; ·Self-motivated learner who continually keeps up to date with new technology; ·Experience in Water/Wastewater sector assignments preferred; ·Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people; ·Written and verbal English language proficiency In order to apply for same, send me your updated resume along with 3 professional references and let me know the best time to reach you.
