*Security Analyst *Duration: *6 to 9 month contract.* Location: *Washington DC* Rate: *Open* *IN PERSON INTERVIEW IS A MUST!!!* ** *Key Responsibilities:* - Analysis of system logs to identify events of interest. - Testing and evaluation in support of change management and certification & accreditation. - Vulnerability analysis and assessment. - Analysis of security notifications to identify and prioritize threats and vulnerabilities. - Analysis and assessment in support of incident response activities. - Evaluation and assessment of systems to support compliance verification. - Education and training in support of security awareness. *Requirements (mandatory):* - Ability to efficiently and effectively analyze large volumes of data to identify events of interest. - Strong analytical skills to understand complex systems in order to identify key components, dependencies, weaknesses etc. - Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and independently without assistance or strict supervision. - Strong practical knowledge of networking and security components including routers, switches, firewalls, & IDS. - Hands-on experience with SIEM solutions. - Solid practical knowledge of common operating systems and applications. - Competent with security testing and evaluation tools. - Strong practical scripting language skills (e.g. shell, Perl, python, etc). - Knowledge of information security principles, practices, standards & guidelines. - At least two (2) years of prior employment in the field of information security. - Excellent written and oral communication skills. *Requirements (desirable):* - Practical knowledge of process control systems (e.g. SCADA, DCS etc) and their components. - Recognized certifications including: MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, GIAC, CISA, CISSP etc. - BS in computer science.
