Wintel Systems Engineer (Government Experience Is Required)
Location: Richmond, VA
Duration: 6- 12+ month contract
IN PERSON INTERVIEW IS A MUST!!!
Job responsibilities:
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot all Servers which reside on a Windows
Platform;
Build, maintain, and troubleshoot all Virtual Servers (VMware and
Citrix);
Serves as a technical expert in situations where customers seek server
platform and active directory (Microsoft OS) guidance;
Collaborates with internal and external customers and resources;
Contributes and support multiple concurrent projects;
Install, configure, and troubleshoot all applications whether new or
legacy;
Provides status reports and project updates as required;
Compile and develop “how-to” documentation based on size and nature of
work;
Works out of a ticketing system which houses all task and project work;
Qualifications / Skills Required
Advanced experience administering Windows Server 2003, 2008
Advanced experience administering Active Directory (including Server
Clustering)
Advanced experience administering VMware 3.5 and vSphere 4.0
Advanced experience administering TCP/IP based networking configurations
Advanced experience administering Citrix Xen Server
Advanced experience administering Microsoft SharePoint
Advanced experience administering Web Servers in a DMZ
Advanced experience administering Web Servers in a load-balanced
environment
Advanced experience administering IIS, .NET 2.0 and higher apps, and
building URLs
Advanced experience administering and implementing SSL certificates
Advanced experience administering and strategically constructing GIS
Systems
Advanced experience administering HP’s Left Hand SAN products
Advanced experience administering Blade Servers (HP and IBM)
Experience administering MS Exchange version 2003 and higher
Experience supporting Desktop platforms (Windows 7, Vista, XP, etc.)
Experience using SAN technologies (as it pertains to supporting servers)
Experience migrating code between servers in separate environments
(Dev, QA, Stage, Production)
Experience setting up MS SQL Server clusters using MS clustering
Experience administering backup/recovery processes on virtual and
physical servers
Experience utilizing storage virtualization
Experience administering Active Directory GPOs (Group Policy Objects)
Familiarity with following a standardized Change Control Process
Familiarity with performing end user training
Familiarity with developing training documentation for hands-on tasks
Familiarity with McAfee’s suite of virus protection products
(Anti-Virus, Spam Appliances, endpoint protection, Iron Mail, etc.)
Familiarity with conducting strategic evaluations for new initiatives
Familiarity with Visual Basic Scripting
Familiarity with Microsoft’s UAG
Familiarity with maintaining a Windows OS patching process and schedule
Familiarity with configuring portable devices for use on the LAN
(Smartphones, iPads, etc.)
Familiarity with Electronic Discovery techniques and concepts
Familiarity with Virtual Desktop strategies and practices
Familiarity with Cloud Computing strategies and practices
Familiarity with best practices towards Microsoft OS license management
Familiarity with most industry standard server monitoring tools
