Position: QA Location: Bothell or Rdmond, WA. Project Description: (What project will the NPW be working on?) Candidate will be working on the AT&T Developer Program portal development project. The developer program uses an iterative development process (Agile Scrum) and needs an NPW for a Quality Assurance / Testing role with emphasis on Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET). Not a customer facing position. Local candidates only, this is NOT a remote position. The ideal candidate is an experienced Java web-based application developer who has the ability to focus development efforts on the writing and maintenance of automated tests. Candidate should possess intermediate to expert level abilities as a java developer and should also have a firm understanding of quality assurance principles and testing best practices as well as the ability to working in an Agile/Scrum environment. Job Description: (What will the NPW do on that project?) The Agile Software Tester is a key member of the team responsible for software development, test and evaluation efforts supporting the AT&T Developer Platform. The primary responsibility of this role is to support Agile/Scrum software development through planning, designing, developing and executing various software quality processes within the Scrum methodology as implemented in the AT&T Developer Program. Key accountabilities include implementation of best practice techniques for test-driven development, value-based exploratory testing, automated functional and regression testing. In addition, this role will facilitate internal/external communication between the development team and Acceptance Test stakeholders, as well as validate that the development team adheres to established Agile Testing methodologies and processes. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure that the acceptance criteria for user stories is testable, and developing test cases based on that criteria. * Automate the execution of test cases through the use of scripting languages. * Perform testing/validation of newly/previously released systems. * Perform development, integration, test and documentation of test framework. * Define test parameters, design tests, interpret test results and analyze test trends * Work with developers to create operational tests based on operational scenarios. * Investigate and analyze unique or customer-related issues relating to test failures. * Participate and support development pilots during the initial phases of all projects as required. * Employ agile test tracking tools to provide transparency on Product & Sprint Backlogs. * recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practice for agile software testing. * Ensure the team strives to make each increment of functionality potentially shippable. * Guide team to adhere to agile based test standards, tools and best practices and maintain test process documentation. * Interface with customers, vendors, and all company departments to resolve technical and quality problems. UPDATE........ The ideal candidate for this position is a quality assurance resource who has in-depth experience with highly technical testing in a Java based web site environment, using Agile methodologies. Candidate will be able to thoroughly test web services from both consumption and a hosting standpoint. They will be well-versed in use of databases and SQL to both create test data and validate test results. Candidate must also be familiar with test automation processes and have experience using tools such as JUnit, Selenium or Jasmine. Knowledge of environment configuration is also required. Experience test Ruby on Rails web sites is a definite plus.
