Oracle DBA Location: San Diego, CA Duration: 12 Months Rate: Negotiable Required skills for contractor req: -Installation of Oracle database software including RAC -Upgraded Oracle RAC environment from 11.2.0.1 to higher versions -Applied PSU and one-off patches to Oracle standalone databases as well as RAC with ASM -Extensive use of RMAN for backup and recovery -Use of OEM, AWR, ASH and ADDM in monitoring and troubleshooting Oracle RDBMS and clusterware -Installation and upgrade of Oracle Golden Gate replication (from 11.1 to higher versions) -Creation and tuning of OGG process groups -Installation and upgrade of MySQL 5.x (upgrade from 5.1 to 5.5 or higher) -Implemented both master-slave and multimaster replication in MySQL -Creation of relational and programming objects in MySQL -Understanding of MySQL best practices as related to replication, performance and recoverability -Solid knowledge of best practices in relations object design and implementation -Good understanding of basic networking and storage principles as they related to Oracle Desired skills: -Demonstrates understanding of NetApp storage technology -Implemented TAF and FAN within a Java-based application environment -Knowledge of at least two of the following scripting languages: Shell (any flavor), Perl, Python, Ruby or JavaScript.
