Telecommuting is not an option.* Description- Sr. Middleware Engineer is a member of Enterprise Middleware Engineering with broad experience in the design, development, deployment and support of various enterprise middleware technologies. The role requires deep understanding of tcServer/Tomcat, WebSphere Application Servers, Web Servers, WebSphere MQ, WebSphere Message Broker and Java/J2EE applications. Understanding of Actuate reporting, SOA, Data power, LDAP, Siteminder and Identity Minder and will be a plus. This role collaborates with application developers and architects to provide deep technical insight of various Middleware technologies that map to Visa standards. The role requires strong experience with technology planning to enhance SOE (Standard Operating Environment), support the ongoing improvement, optimization, and rationalization of middleware technologies. An emphasis on re-use of established infrastructure patterns and consolidation of like technologies is to be expected. This is highly demanding role, which requires constant interaction with developers, architects, project managers. Strong communication, teamwork attitude and project planning skills are must *Responsibilities:* • Provide technology leadership in tcServer/Tomcat application server, WebSphere Application Server, MQ, WebSphere Message Broker and Actuate reporting on various Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, Windows etc.) used at Visa Inc. • Architect, integrate and configure applications to fully utilize the above technologies as well as Datapower, LDAP, Siteminder and other Middleware technologies. • Develop roadmap and enhance processes to be used by Middleware engineering and interaction with various groups. • Work on standards, guidelines, and procedures for various Middleware technologies. • Provide input to project planning, estimation, budget, resource, and technology planning • Publish and present technology standards and roadmaps *Must have requirements:* • 5-7 years experience with tcServer/Tomcat application server, WebSphere Application server and WebSphere MQ. • 5-7 years experience with Apache web servers • 5+ years J2EE/JEE, JDBC, JNDI, JAXP, JAAS and JMS experience • 4+ years System Architecture experience • Expertise in performance tuning, deployments and troubleshooting • Experience of working with IBM on PMR’s • Prefer candidates with strong scripting skills including UNIX shell, Perl, Jython, WSadmin and batch • Candidate should have performed in an engineering and support role for a technical discipline • Very strong interpersonal, communication, and team building skills are essential • Candidate must work well in a fast-paced, changing environment and be able to manage multiple tasks, projects, and initiatives all with different priorities at the same time. • Ability to logically analyze problems, propose solutions and drive issues to resolution, individually and when leading a group to reach a conclusion *Nice to have: * • 5-7 years experience with WebSphere Message Broker, Jasper reporting and Actuate reporting. • 3-4 years experience with Datapower and SOA technologies • 5-7 years experience with Web Services, SOAP, and UDDI on JAVA & .Net platforms. • 5-7 years experience with LDAP or integrating with LDAP • Experience working with open source products in addition to commercial products is a plus *Veera* *Sr.BDM – Sales and Recruitment Dexter Systems Inc* *Phone : 703.870.3368 * Email : [email protected] www.dextersys.com http://www.linkedin.com/in/veerashekar If you wish to be removed from the mailing list, please reply back to this email with “Remove” in the subject line and I will promptly act on that.
