DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*
• Develop effective and efficient technology solutions for the Fuel Management
and Fuel Efficiency teams. Use acquired railroad knowledge, experience and
technical skills to leverage opportunities to manage Fuel operations including
fuel inventory, delivery, monitoring, forecasting, modeling and invoicing and
efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers.
Maintain strong relationships with numerous internal teams (Operations,
Mechanical, Operating Practices etc…) and vendors (Fuel and Information
Suppliers) across the network. Ensure high quality deliverables and service
with open and direct communications and expectation management.
• Ability to grasp complex problems and construct sound solutions using*Java
and DB2*. Java and DB2 are required skill sets.
• Key tools used in the position are*MKS, Rational Software Architect, DB2,
Teradata SQL Assistant, Putty, Remedy and the Microsoft Office Suite.*
• Complete all work using the Project Management methodology. Strong project
management and communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
• 365x24x7 support on a team-rotating basis.
• Embrace the Leadership Model and actively demonstrate commitment to the model.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and equivalent on the
job technical experience
• Application development and support experience
• Experience delivering Java applications using:* Java*,* J2EE*, JavaScript,
Servlet/JSP, MDB, HTML, SQL,* DB2*, Teradata, AIX/Unix, IMS-Connect and JDBC.
PERL and Business Objects experience is preferred.Thanks and Regards
