*The Manager is looking for an Oracle Expert, not an Oracle DBA.* * * The Technical Specialist is an expert level resource with specialized knowledge and experience Oracle. They will be the guru in Oracle to go to with everything including all Oracle add-ons. THey will also be responsible for Supervising/Managing lower level resources. They will have overall knowledge and understanding of application development and architecture.
*day-in-the-life of the person will be…* Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures. Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing, Pre-production and production usage. Creates and maintains all databases ETL required for data conversions. Performs ongoing tuning of the database instances. Implements and enforces security for all of the Oracle Databases. Puts standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance. Perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the site standards are being adhered to. Evaluates releases of Oracle and its tools, and third party products to ensure that the site is running the products that are most appropriate. Planning along with the application developers and System administrators, to ensure that any new product usage or release upgrade takes place with minimal impact. Provides technical support to application development teams, business analyst, IT managers, and business owners. Plans and implements backup and recovery of the Oracle database. Performs database re-organisations as required to assist performance and ensure maximum uptime of the database. Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects. Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools. Interveiws will be 10/22-10/25 8 to 10 years of experience as adminstator with Oracle 5 years of experience admin with Windows Oracle 4 year college degree or equivalent technical study. All roles specified in TS2 plus the following: Advanced experience in the required technical subject matter.
