You'll collaborate with your project team to develop test strategy and plan. Expect to work on complex challenges utilizing your skills in data structures, SQL, and the careful, methodical comparison of system requirements against actual results in multiple environments (Dev, UAT and Production). *Responsibilities* - Review functional and technical documentation in order to identify requirements for the creation of test plans, test cases and test scripts. - Conduct test case reviews to ensure scenarios accurately capture business functionality. - Act in a technical leadership capacity: Mentoring junior engineers, new team members, and applying technical expertise to challenging programming and design problems relating to quality engineering. - Develop automated tests for functional validation - Escalate issues as appropriate and track them to resolution - *Qualifications * - 6+ years experience conducting white box test design, testing techniques and e2e data/database testing - Strong development experience with any of the following Object Oriented Languages (OOD): Java/J2EE, C#, VB.NET, Python, or sometimes C++. - Strong linux experience and familiar with BASH - Experience testing web services (REST or SOAP). - Desired experience with automation tools such as TestNG, DBUnit - BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience. - Excellent technical, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills - Solid communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Strong SQL skills - Self-directed and self-motivated individual who takes complete ownership of the product and its outcome. Preferred Experience: - Experience with cloud/SaaS, big data, or analytics. - Financial application work experience is plus - Always Be Learning: Experience with open source technologies--you're prototyping and/or researching the up and coming technology and solutions. *Note from Manager:* 1. They have been using SOAP UI for testing web services. This is a 3rd party tool that does need coding skills at the java level and the exposure to this tool make their experience limited for my role . *2. *Webdriver - This is related to UI validation ( same as page object model) that was sent last week which does not fit into the role. My Suggestion is to identify candidates who have worked in web services using TESTNG (as we indicated in job description) and have good SQL , Data analytic skills as the team that this person will be working on is only data and backend .
