**HW: Data Domain (w/ Boost)* **SW: TSM* Job Description :- Pro*vide Northern Trust with a TSM Backup/Recovery Specialist consultant responsible for assisting with the management of the backup environment. * Principal duties and responsibilities may include: *- Investigation into the existing challenges with backup data expiration/reclamation* *- Monitor the DDs capacity as database backups are executed with the compression and BOOST changes* *- Reviews the existing backup architecture, policies, and operational considerations and current usage of EMC technology.* - Assists with incident and problem management activities. - Participates in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable. - Monitors backup activity for the in-scope environment. - Performs routine backup policy changes. - Participates in the planning and implementation of approved Change Management requests. - Generates regular operational reports using Customer supplied tools. - Participates in backup capacity measurement and planning. - Assists with detailed technical planning for future initiatives. - Recommends changes to procedures intended to enhance operational optimization. - Prepares a documented backup management, policy and/or architecture process improvement report that outlines operational, technical or support areas that could be improved. - Validates that backups are completed.
