*Learn Rails Through Migration*
*We create web applications to support the marketing department of a*
*financial institution. *
*We are migrating several major applications from mac to linux and need a
developer who is willing to do some grunt work in order to learn rails.*
*Personality of applicant*
Creative, responsible, independent, go-getter with sense of humor
Clear thinker. Interested in collaborative solutions and white-boarding.
Willing to present solutions to others and diagram ideas.
*Code Mastery:*
**3+ years of either PHP or Rails*
* - MVC Framework*
*3+ years experience with Relational Databases (MySQL)
- Write queries from scratch
- Complex table joins
- ERD Modeling
*Advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Bonus if you use CSS frameworks (Compass, Blueprint, etc)
*Strong knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX, XML
- Experience with usage of Frameworks (jQuery, Prototype/Scriptaculous)
*Advanced knowledge of UNIX/Linux
*Responsibilities:*
* You will work on building and maintaining internal tools built in Rails
* Maintain legacy PHP apps
* Work on both backend and front end development (JavaScript)
* Architect and maintain MySQL databases
* Work with a creative team and brainstorm with others
* Work closely with Project Leads
*Bonus Experiences:*
* Experience with agile engineering practices including: test-driven
development, pair programming, refactoring.
* Art School Training of any kind, or good understanding of design
* Experience with InDesign, Photoshop or Illustrator
* Technical writing experience
* Experience diagramming and presenting ideas to a group
