Principal responsibilities include: § Develop code using Pega Business Process Management (BPM) system including front-end methodologies like AJAX, JavaScript, CSS § Design and develop web services components for cross-application solutions § Perform testing on developed code (initial and regression) § Participate and contribute to a team approach to software development and problem solving using Agile/Scrum practices *Qualifications: Education and Experience:* § Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, I.T., or similar degree § 5+ years of overall I.T. experience § 3+ years hands-on experience writing, debugging, testing, and documenting Java Web Applications Candidates without a college degree will be considered, but must at least 7 years of relevant development experience *Required Skills and Competencies:* § Proven experience with the Java EE architecture and design for web applications § Demonstrated experience developing Java Web applications (Servlets, JSP, JDBC/SQL, Web Services, JSF or other web frameworks, Applets) § Experience with Web and EJB containers deployed on different JVMs § Experience with SQL, RDBMS (preferably SQL Server), and database principles § Familiarity with a variety of open source tools and libraries (Ant, Eclipse, Hibernate, Tomcat, JBoss, JUnit, Subversion, etc.) § Experience developing software running under Linux (or other Unix derivative) § Strong Object Oriented design and implementation skills § Comfortable in Agile Development Methodology, especially Scrum *Desired Skills:* § Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) § Knowledge/experience working with Pega systems Pega BPM § Knowledge/experience working with access control and financial systems Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust.
