Send me resumes at <[email protected]> *Job: Linux / Unix Subject Matter Expert (CISSP)* *Location: Tampa, FL* *Duration: 6 Months/Plus Extensions* *Job Description: * The Linux / Unix Subject Matter Expert is responsible for the protection of the company's physical and non-physical Information Technology assets using various tools. This includes, but is not limited to, Redhat Linux, Ubuntu Linux and AIX. Main duties include: designing, implementing and maintaining Linux or Unix platform security policies and baselines; developing security requirements from a project’s inception to its conclusion for projects that use Linux or Unix platforms; assisting other groups within the firm in developing secure Linux / Unix platform solutions. Linux Subject Matter Expert should also possess an in-depth understanding of IP networking, networking protocols, open source software and security-related technologies. These include encryption, IPSec, PKI, firewalls, proxy services, DNS, DHCP and SSL. *Requirements:* • Ten or more years of experience in a technical information systems positions working on Linux or Unix systems, with at least 5 years experience in an information security position. • Architect level LDAP knowledge including designing and implementing LDAP from the ground up. • Integrating Linux and Unix systems with Microsoft Active Directory using Kerberos. • Expert knowledge of Linux and Unix shell scripting and various system commands. • Deep knowledge of system and audit logs including using them for problem analysis and security investigations. • Experience with information security policies, incident response procedures, risk analysis, and significant experience administering the operations of a complex Linux or Unix infrastructure. • Articulate the impacts related technologies like virtualization have on Linux or Unix platforms relative to their security and availability. • Evaluate network architecture, hardware and software configurations that may impact the security of Linux or Unix platforms. • Participate in the review and analysis of internal projects and external connectivity issues that may impact the security of Linux or Unix platforms and products. • Ensure effectiveness of security controls for Linux and Unix platforms. • Perform vulnerabilities assessments to identify both architectural and platform-specific vulnerabilities in Linux and Unix platforms and products. • Review security audits and bring awareness to security problems and issues that impact Linux and Unix platforms. • Working knowledge of VMWare virtualization technologies a plus. • Working knowledge of Linux on Z/os or z/Linux is a plus. • Working knowledge of Big Data technologies is a plus. • Create Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for appropriate processes. • Participate in organization's Threat & Vulnerability Assessment and Incident Response processes. • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting & interpersonal skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Knowledge of Web technology is a plus. *Education and Certification:* Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. Five years relevant experience may be substituted. CISSP Certification strongly preferred.
