The more Sybase experience, the better. - SQL Server experience is also required. - Applicants must be on-site in Chicago for the duration of the assignment. *PROJECT OVERVIEW:* This Database Administrator is needed for a migration process from Sybase Technology to SQL Server. Some applications involved in a migration still need to remain on Sybase’s realm for specific vended applications, but most will be migrating to SQL. This DBA is not directly responsible for testing but will assist application partners with performance / tuning testing and assist in making sure functionality is performing correctly in the SQL Server realm to make sure migrated date behaves and functions as designed. Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design based on a thorough knowledge of modeling techniques, the modeling tools available on the project, and the business functions of the subject system. Performs database administration including tasks such as loading data, managing data security and user access, performance monitoring and tuning, and all aspects of data integrity, backup, recovery, and user support.
