Consultant’s Day to day responsibilities: Educates clinicians a classroom setting about proper ICD-10 code usage and entry. Trains and provides support to clinicians in elbow to elbow setting. Verifies that training milestones for clinicians are driven, logged, and reported to senior leadership. Ensure that coders questions are answered, and fully understand ICD-10 codes. Talk to doctors about the importance of proper documentation in EHR for Meaningful Use attestation. Required skills: Certifications in physician coding and ICD-10. CPC, CCSP, and ICD-10 certifications from organizations such as: AHIMA, AAPC. Must have 2-4 Years of experience training clinicians and coders on ICD-10. Experience with compiling information and creating documentation for reporting needs.
