Notes:

This is a smaller software company that builds software for the property
and casuality insurance

They are currently on SQL 2014

It would be a mixture of DBA and Development work

They need this person to help direct 2  DBA/ Developers

75% DBA work and 25% development

Development work is mostly with T-sql  (a little SSIS)

*Must have 2 plus years of experience working with Property Causality
Insurance *







*Responsibilities*

·         Manage and coach and a team of 3-4 database administrators both
on shore and offshore

·         Develop work tasks and schedules for the database staff

·         Manage Application development team expectations and convert into
actionable items for execution and delivery

·         Manage database solution design to support
portfolio/project/architectural cycles

·         Manage and maintain operational efficiencies to deliver on key
metrics that enable corporate initiatives and service delivery

·         Ensure proper synergies to deliver on time sensitive initiatives
under the Project Management Methodology in place (on time, within the
quality specs, and within budget)

·         Monitor and refine processes, procedures, and systems to optimize
effectiveness and/or implements improvements

·         Perform proactive analysis of database infrastructure capacity
and performance

·         Ensure proper documentation for database and data model design

·         Support upgrades and patch management of Client SQL environments

·         Support maintenance activities during critical tasks

·         Support activities such as security, reporting, testing,
troubleshooting application performance issues, and technical documentation

*Qualifications:*

·         Experience with supporting mission critical operations

·         3-5 years of experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance
Industry

·         10-12 years of general IT administration or operations experience

·         8–10 years of experience in database administration

·         Solid understanding of database best practices and proven ability
to implement them

·         Analytical, detail-oriented, and thorough when working on
assigned tasks

·         Ability to quickly identify a problem and find multiple creative
solutions

·         Ability to manage multiple projects, activities and tasks
simultaneously and work them to completion with little supervision

·         Highly developed written and verbal communication skills to work
collaboratively across teams and organizations

Ability to work under pressure with many assigned tasks and hard deadlines
