Knowledge of RTC and Quality Center a plusResponsible for running, creating and maintaining existing automation scripts in Ruby & Cucumber. The Test Automation Developer focuses primarily on: Providing high quality, cost-effective automated test functionality for use by IT areas to validate the quality of new and existing software applications, and modifying and/or supporting existing packaged or custom-built testing frameworks. In this capacity, Test Automation Developers analyze, design, configure, code, test, debug, document and maintain automated testing utilities, programs, scripts, and frameworks. Role Accountabilities: 1. Designs, develops, configures, and maintains automated test frameworks and custom test solutions 2. Tests individual frameworks, programs, automation scripts and configurations (i.e., unit- level testing) 3. Debugs automation frameworks/scripts and resolves technical issues 4. Documents technical solutions within test frameworks and custom test solutions 5. Leverages critical thinking to identify problems and recommend corresponding solutions 6. Determines programming impact on existing systems/automation frameworks 7. Modifies detailed test scripts/modules/applications/frameworks with high quality 8. Programs scripts/modules/applications using a high level of technical expertise 9. Maintains solid knowledge and develops expertise in one or more application areas with respect to automated testing tools and techniques 10. Provides technical consulting on complex projects, frameworks and design patterns 11. Provides advice on automation tools/techniques, feasibility and implementation, process improvements as well as maintenance plans 12. Creates or modifies procedures to solve complex problems; taking equipment, operating time and desired results into account 13. Contributes strategic vision to the business solution area (BSA) and integrates a broad range of IT application and automation framework development ideas throughout the organization 14. Is sought out as a resource for resolution of unique or complex IT automation framework and application development problems involving multiple disciplines and possibly even multiple BSAs 15. Drives creative and innovative technical concepts to mechanize workflows from ideation to operational tools, designed with the capability to be reusable, maintainable, and efficient 16. Is knowledgeable and effective in following established testing practices and processes. Coordinates/Plans test runs; prioritizes, defines and manages defect reporting and resolution 17. Aligns the appropriate automated testing solution to most effectively and efficiently evaluate the acceptance criteria 18. Provides estimation on effort to create new or update existing automation tests 19.
