*Position: Business System Analyst III* *Location: Bloomington, MN* *Length: 6 months with Extensions* Requirements: Any Work Visa Manager Notes: Anyone who has been more hands on with data and is familiar with highlighted big data technologies (ideally worked on any big data projects) The Search Product Team drives search for Bestbuy.com in their large view, small view, and mobile apps. This position will be part of search team which will focus primarily on Search Relevancy modeling, but will evaluate other aspects of the search capability as well. The team will be charged with innovating, testing, and quick iterations on critical search assets. *Three industries you may find candidates for this role from:* 1. Insurance companies using Big Data Platforms Job Description: *Responsibilities:* The purpose of this function is to use, assess and remediate Search capabilities to increase customer conversion via best-in-class algorithms and search logic. The candidate must be able to validate digital use cases in the context of the search environment. This role needs to bring experience and expertise with digital analytics in order to complete the following tasks: • Evaluate current algorithms driving core aspects of search results and relevancy. • Propose algorithm enhancements based on analysis of large datasets *Normal day:* • Review and analyze large datasets of online/offline data. • Create cross reference tables and possibly forecasting or predictive models. • Provide insights and recommendations based on findings. *Must have skills:* • Looking for someone with 5-7 years’ experience, this is not an entry level role. • Innovative & detail-oriented to produce meaningful, insightful, and value-added data products. • Expertise in minimum of two of the following: statistics, computer science, or analytics. • Ability to learn, adapt, and evolve in this rapidly changing field. • Interacts with business partners and developers to document and clarify requirements. *Preferred skills (nice-to-have):* o Hive – a plus o Hadoop - a plus o Spark – a plus o R – a plus *Soft Skills:* • Must be a self-starter • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Must be able to work independently and able to self-manage their work • Successful at bringing their own expertise and judgement to the work • Ability to work in ambiguous environment • Critical problem solving skills • Informal or formal training experience is a plus *Interview process:* 30 minute phone interview -60 minutes in-person interview Please reply with suitable profiles along with the contact details.
